Monmouth County Historical Association Seeks Help Identifying Old Homes

The Library and Archives of Monmouth County Historical Association is looking for help identifying historic homes in Freehold.

Susan Winter, a local Monmouth County artist, created over 500 sketches of historic properties in our area. These sketches appeared in Greater Media newspapers during the 1990s. Monmouth County Historical Association has received a donation of over 150 of these original sketches, many of which can be traced to a particular town and address.

However, there are a ten properties that cannot be identified. Most of these sketches would have appeared in the Freehold Transcript, which covers the towns of Colts Neck, Englishtown, Freehold Borough, Freehold Township, Manalapan and Marlboro.

Photos of the house sketches can be found on Monmouth County Historical Association's Flickr page: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mcha1898/sets/72157629093249176/

If you recognize any of these houses, please leave your comments below or on the Flickr page.

Wonderful Work! I actually was thinking of doing a simmilar Project Starting first with Our Home here In Matawan, The Poets Home,Philip Freneau. I will go see if Our home was done by this Artist..... I want to paint and begin with creating a Minniature Replica Inside and Out of this fine 1818 Federal style example ,with a latter Added Victorian Style and era wrap arround Porch.
The sketches here That are shown are really very realistic.
