5 Things to Know Today: Jan. 19, 2012

A list of five things you should know for Jan. 19.

 

Weather

According to the National Weather Service, today will be mostly sunny, with a high near 37. Thursday night will be mostly cloudy with a chance of snow showers. Temperatures will drop to around 29.

Support Groups

CentraState Medical Center is holding a “First Impressions Maternity Tour” today at 6:30 p.m. The tour is for adults only and is free. For more information call 732-308-0570 or visit centrastate.com/healthprograms.

First Presbyterian Church is holding an AA meeting tonight at 8:15 p.m.

Meetings

Freehold Township’s Planning Board Reorganization and regular meeting will be at 7 p.m. tonight at the Freehold Township Offices.

Dwight D. Eisenhower Middle School will hold their PTO meeting tonight at 7 p.m.

High School Sports

The Freehold Colonials swimming teams and basketball teams are in action today. The boys and girls swimming teams are competing at home against Monmouth Regional High School at 2:30 p.m. The boys and girls basketball teams go up against Colts Neck High School today. The girls will take the court at home at 5:30 p.m. while the boys will travel to Colts Neck and begin playing at 6:30 p.m.

The Freehold Patriots basketball teams are taking the court today. The girls basketball team will play at 4 p.m. against North Burlington at home today. The boys team will take on Christian Brothers Academy away at 5 p.m.

For Kids

Barns and Noble will be hosting a story time and craft today at 11 a.m. Today’s story will be "My Friend Fred" by Hiawyn Oram. For more information call 732-409-2929.
