Turkey Swamp Park will go to the dogs this Sunday, with the seventh annual Dogs for Dystonia dog walk.
Dogs for Dystonia, is an organization dedicated to finding a cure for those suffering from Dystonia, a disorder that causes muscles to contract and involuntarily spasms which result in pain and contortion. In hopes of spreading support, awareness, and finding a cure, Dogs for Dystonia, will meet at Turkey Swamp Park on Sunday, Sept. 23 from noon until 3 p.m. for a dog walk and more.
In addition to the dog walk, Eric Finkel, the on-field master of ceremonies for contests at Lakewood BlueClaws ballgames, will be the emcee at the event. Disney will also be on hand at the event to distribute prizes and admit-two passes to an advance screening of their new animated comedy "Frankenweenie”. Family fun including activities, games, contests, vendors, and more will also be at the event on Sunday.
Although the event is featured around a dog walk, all are invited to join the cause including those without a dog.
Registration for the event is $10 per family regardless of how many people are in your group. Pre-registered families will receive a goody bag or a tee shirt. For more information about Dogs for Dystonia visit dogsfordystonia.com.
