A list of things five things you should know for Thursday, Feb. 2, Groundhog Day!

 

Weather

According the National Weather Service today will be partly sunny, with a high near 49. Tonight, it will remain cloudy and temperatures will drop to 30.

High School Sports

The Freehold Colonial swimming, ice hockey, track, wrestling and basketball teams are all in action today. To see the game locations and time click here.

The Freehold Patriot basketball teams and track team are competing this afternoon. The boys and girls basketball teams will play against Middletown High School South. The boys will stay home while the girls travel to Middletown South. Both teams will take the court at 4 p.m. The girls track team will compete in the Girls Frosh Novice Tournament today at 4 p.m. in the Bennett Indoor Complex located in Toms River.

Support Groups

CentraState Medical Center will host a Fibromyalgia Support Group today at 11 a.m. Facilitated by Tania Munk, a patient advocate in the state of New Jersey participants will learn how to move through their challenges with encouragement, free expression and group guidance to achieve the best quality of life with few restrictions and limitations.

First Presbyterian Church will hold an AA meeting tonight at 8:15 p.m.

For Kids

Barns and Noble will be holding a story time and craft today at 11 a.m. Today’s featured story will be "Substitute Groundhog" by Pat Miller.

Classes/Lectures

CentraState Medical Center is holding a Sibling Preparation Class today at 5 p.m. This class is designed to help children transition into their new role of big sister and/or big brother. Children's hospital tour is included. Please bring a doll or stuffed animal for diapering practice. The class costs $20 for one child and family. To register call the Health Awareness Center at 732-308-0570.
