Former Freehold Borough Employee Remembered

Andrew Zarnowski died on Jan. 31, was a Freehold Borough employee.

 

Andrew R. Zarnowski, 65, of Freehold, died Thursday, Jan. 31 at home.

Zarnowski was born in Lakehurst and was a lifelong Freehold resident. He was a 1965 graduate of Freehold Regional High School and was a U.S. Army veteran. He served in Vietnam and later in Germany. Zarnowski was also a member of American Legion Post No. 54. He was employed at the Borough of Freehold Street Department from 1973 until his retirement.

Surviving are his wife, Darcy Wisotsky Zarnowski; a daughter and son-in-law Amanda Zarnowski and Joe Mason; two brothers and a sister-in-law, James D. Zarnowski and Joseph M. and JoAnne Zarnowski; a sister and brother-in-law, Joanie and Thomas Hampton; and three nieces, Lisa, Christina, and Kelly.

Visiting hours will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home on Friday Feb. 8 from 5 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, Feb. 9 at 10 a.m. followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Wounded Warrior Project or the S.P.C.A. would be appreciated.

As a kid i remember andy in that sweeper and when i graduated from the boro i worked there a short time and he was still in that sweeper rest in peace big andy your friend roland.
