Freehold Borough Applies for GCADA Grant

Resolution passed at Freehold Borough Council meeting authorizes the government to apply for funding to the Governor’s Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse (GCADA).

 

The Freehold Borough Council is taking steps to help residents suffering from drug and alcohol abuse.

At the Tuesday night Freehold Borough Council meeting, members voted to approve a resolution which authorizes the council to apply for a grant from the Governor’s Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse (GCADA). 

The resolution states, “the Governing Body recognizes that it is incumbent upon not only public officials, but the entire community to take action to prevent such abuses in our community.” 

The grant would come through Monmouth County and is also known as the Drug Enforcement Demand Recovery Program. According to the resolution, Freehold Borough is applying for a $41,010 grant.
