Freehold Borough Awards Contract for Water Plant Valve Replacement
The valves and pipes being replaced are inside of sewer plant.
Sections of pipes and valves in the Freehold Borough Water Plant will be getting fixed thanks to a new contract.
The Freehold Borough Council passed a resolution at Monday night’s meeting to award A.C. Schultes, Inc. of Woodbury Heights, the contract to remove and replace certain areas of pipes and valves in the plant.
“This is basically our internal pipes and valves inside of our sewer plant,” explained Councilman Michael DiBenedetto. “The bids for this project were very competitive.”
Eight companies contacted Freehold Borough with bids to perform the repairs. According to the resolution, A.C. Schultes, Inc. placed the lowest bid for the work, asking for $16,465 to do the needed repairs.
Most of the other bids for the work ranged between $18,670 and $24,980. Ferraro Construction Corp. proposed the most expensive bid for the work, asking for $43,700.
A date for the repairs to begin was not discussed at the Monday night meeting.
