Freehold Borough Couple Accused of Leaving Kids Behind After Eviction

Howell Township Police arrested couple after they received a referral from DYFS.

A Freehold Borough man and woman have been arrested, according to a Howell Township Police Department press release.

The couple has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child and wrongful impersonation. The release states that the duo was evicted from their Howell residence before moving to Freehold Borough. However, the couple allegedly left two children behind in the evicted Howell residence when they relocated.

According to the release, a neighbor discovered the abuse and alerted DYFS, where there was an open case file on the family.

The release stated that upon further investigation, it was discovered that the woman was using someone else’s social security number to work. She has been charged with wrongful impersonation and using a false ID. She has been lodged in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution (MCCI) in lieu of $3,000.

The man, who was named as the primary caretaker of the children, has been charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He was lodged in MCCI in lieu of $75,000.
