Although this winter has been unseasonably warm, the Freehold Borough Parent Teacher Organizations (PTO) kept it cool by hosting an Italian Ice fundraiser.
On March 5, David Levine, the owner of Ralph’s Ices, opened up his heart and store to the PTO.
For four hours, children and parents from the Freehold Intermediate School and Freehold Learning Center, along with teachers from Park Avenue School, scooped ice for their friends, family, coworkers, residents and those just passing by that stopped in to show their support.
For each $5 donation, all were treated to their choice of pints and sundaes, with 100% of the proceeds going back to the schools. With Dave’s generosity, the PTOs walked away with $1,000.
“We could not have asked for a better community partner than Dave,” said FLC PTO President Michele Tennant. “He welcomed us like he would welcome his best friend,” she continued.
Jill Schiff, FIS PTO President said, “Dave and his brother Jeff gave our children full run of the facility - from handling money to customer service.” She continued, “They received an education in business, while doing community service. The team at Ralph’s Ices has become a mentor to our children and for that we are truly grateful.”
Ralph’s Ices will officially open March 15 at 179 South Street, Freehold Boro.
