Freehold Club Helps Family Recovering from Sandy Home Damage
The Freehold Rotary Club has donated funds to a local family suffering with home damages from Hurricane Sandy.
The Executive Board of the Freehold Rotary Club announced this week that they will be donating $1,000 to a local Freehold family whose home was badly damaged by Hurricane Sandy.
Suzanne and Kevin Crandall, of Lincoln Place, had immense damage to their home after a tree crashed through the roof during the height of the storm. The tree destroyed most of the second floor, causing the family to live in an apartment until a decision can be made about repairs to their home.
“The plight of the Crandall’s and their three children came to the club’s attention several weeks ago after several community organizations held a fundraiser to assist the family,” said Freehold Rotary President Peter Jeffery. “As soon as we heard of their suffering we wanted to help. Rotary is about community service at the local, regional and international level. We hope our contribution will ease their loss.”
The $1,000 donations to the Crandall family came from a December fundraiser at the First Presbyterian Church by the Latino Coalition Foundation and the Graeme Preston Foundation for Life.
