UPDATE: Freehold Firefighters Collecting Donations for Sea Bright

Freehold Township firefighters need your donations.

 

Update, Sunday, 3 p.m.: East Freehold Fire Company is collecting food, toiletries, blankets and winter clothes. The first truckload has gone out and a second will ship out at about 5 p.m. Collections will continue until then.

Freehold Township Independent Fire Co. No. 1, Station 16-1 will be headed to Sea Bright Sunday night to assist volunteer firefighters who have been working around the clock since Hurricane Sandy struck.

The fire company is seeking supplies to bring to the Sea Bright Fire Department, according to its Facebook page. The Sea Bright firefighters are in need of the following items:

  • Socks
  • T-shirts
  • Blankets
  • Toiletries
  • Baby wipes
  • Snacks that can be carried in their gear (granola bars, cookies, etc.)
  • Flavored drinks (vitamin water, gatorade, etc.)
  • Cots to sleep on

The items can be dropped off at the firehouse at the corner of Stillwells Corner Road and Schanck Road.

God bless our brave men and woman out there helping out in this terrible time. It warms my heart to read that our town is there to lend a hand in this tragic time.
