Howell Man Accused of Concealing Merchandise from Walmart

Freehold Township Police arrested and charged a Howell man after he allegedly tried to leave Walmart without paying for his merchandise.

 

A Howell man was arrested after he allegedly tried to conceal merchandise while leaving a Freehold store.

Scott Chavan, 20, of Seattle Slew Drive, was arrested on Saturday, Sept. 22 after he allegedly walked out of Walmart with merchandise. According to the complaint warrant, Chavan attempted to leave Walmart with merchandise valued at $24.96.

The warrant states that Chavan has a prior criminal history and had an active warrant at the time of his arrest.

Chavan was been remanded to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution on $1,000 bail.
