Keansburg Man Accused of Making Call Threatening Courthouse

Robert Malinowski allegedly said a shooting spree would take place at the county courthouse.

A Keansburg man is accused of telling Middletown police dispatch that a shooting spree would take place at the Monmouth County Courthouse in Freehold.

Robert Malinowski, 22, was arrested and charged him with false public alarm, according to a press release by the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO).

Malinowski allegedly placed the 9-1-1 call at 10:05 a.m. on Thursday. Security was increased in and around the courthouse while sheriff’s officers, detectives from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, and Keansburg and Middletown Police worked to apprehend the suspect, the release stated.

"We take each and every threat seriously," Sheriff Shaun Golden said in the press release. "In the wake of the recent tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut, people are even more sensitive. It’s our duty to make certain that law enforcement remains on high alert to ensure public safety."

An investigation into the call traced it to the Keansburg area cell phone belonging to Malinowski’s father, according to the MCSO.

"This arrest sends a clear message that this type of criminal activity will not be tolerated," Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni said in the release.

An arrest does not "send a clear message", the Judge needs to set an example that this type of inconsiderate lowlife act does not happen again or the next idiot thinks twice about doing something so stupid.

Please don't comment about people you don't know! This young man may have done something ill advised but is most definitely not a crack head as you suggest.

So jackass is ok, but, crackhead is off limits? Please advise, I dont wanna mess this up next time! The guy put hundreds of people in fear, activated a swat team, cost countless dollars to the county, risked the lives of first responders and you dont like the term crack head!! I guess your right because I thought of names that would surely be censored by the patch had i typed it here. Grow up my friend and find someone innocent to defend.

This kid is severely disturbed. The police need to look at his Facebook posts and take action. Theres multiple ramblings about being a serial killer, cop killer, and threats to take his own life. He needs help before he does something stupid and hurts someone. Go look for yourself.

This is the type of meth head that buys an illegal gun and holds you up in your bedroom at 4am.

This is the type of meth head that will always get guns, ban or no ban.

This is why liberals cannot run a country.

You post his fb up there for everyone to see but come on actually LOOK at the kids facebook posts. Severely depressed, talking about killing himself, homeless. The kid needs help. But just like with whats happening now, we'll bring up gun control, but not mental health and the treatment of it. No really, that seems to be working.
