Two major organizations will come together this week to celebrate history, tradition and anniversaries. The Congregation Kol Am and the Monmouth County Jewish Heritage Museum will light the third Hanukkah candle on the giant menorah outside of the Mounts Corner Shopping Center in Freehold and will continue celebrating their many years of operation.
For the past 10 years, Congregation Kol Am has been serving congregants in Monmouth and Ocean County while the Monmouth County Jewish Heritage museum has been promoting the awareness of Monmouth County’s Jewish history for the past five years. Together, the two both nuture the appreciation of local jewish history and encourage the creation of Jewish memories that will span generations.
The celebrations will begin at 6:45 p.m. on Dec. 22, 2011 and will include kindling of the Hanukkah lights, performances by the adult and children’s choir as well as games and free admission to the museum after the lighting of the menorah.
