Man Accused of Armed Robbery, Murder Attempt in Burlington Coat Factory Parking Lot

A 25-year-old man allegedly used a gun to try to rob another man of marijuana in Freehold Township.

 

Freehold Township Police arrested a Brick man for allegedly committing an armed robbery in the parking lot of the Burlington Coat Factory.

According to the complaint warrant, Caleb Applewhite, 25, of Brick Blvd. allegedly robbed Brandon Randolph of marijuana using a handgun in the in Freehold Township parking lot.

According to police documents, Applewhite is charged with conspiracy with another to commit armed robbery, utilizing a handgun to commit robbery, attempt to commit murder, and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

Total bail is set at $300,000. He is scheduled for a first appearance in court at 8 a.m. Tuesday. Police are still investigating.
