Obituary: Joel L. Scolnick, 67

Joel Scolnick was a local business owner and a long time member of the Freehold First Aid.

 

Joel L. Scolnick, 67, of Freehold Township, died on Sunday, Sept. 9 at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold. Originally born in Newark, Scolnick lived in Maplewood before moving to Freehold 31 years ago.


Scolnick owned and operated Original Electric in Freehold and recently worked at Home Depot, Freehold. He was a charter member of the Maplewood First Aid Squad and a lifetime member of the Freehold First Aid Squad.

Scolnick is survived by his wife of 40 years, Marilyn; his son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Kelly; his daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and Marc Goldman; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Steven and Ellen and Bruce and Dale; grandson, Jacob; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday, Sept. 12, at 1 p.m. at the Freeman Funeral Home in Freehold. Interment will be private. The family would appreciate donations to Freehold First Aid.
