Police: Freehold Man Used Knife in Robbery

A Freehold man allegedly used a knife during a robbery of an Ocean Township grocery store.

 

Ocean Township Police arrested a Freehold man after he allegedly used a knife in a robbery of a Route 35 grocery store.

Tionne Henderson, 23, of Ford Avenue, faces four charges following a January incident. According to Henderson’s complaint warrant, on Jan. 19, he entered the International Mexican Grocery store and produced a knife to the cashier and demanded money. Henderson allegedly took $400 from the store.

Henderson has been charged with robbery, possessing a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and making terroristic threats. According to the warrant, Henderson threatened to kill the cashier during the alleged robbery. Due to the knife, the cashier was put in imminent fear of his life.

A previous report shows that Freehold Borough Police arrested Henderson after he allegedly broke into a parked car in the borough on New Year’s Day.

Henderson has been remanded to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution (MCCI) on $100,000 bail for the four charges related to the Ocean Township grocery store robbery.
