Police: Man Sells Stolen Silver and Gold to Freehold Store

Man allegedly attempted to sell stolen silver coins and gold rings to a Freehold antiques and collectable store.

Freehold Borough Police arrested a Lakewood man after he allegedly sold stolen silver and gold to Superior Rare Coinage & Collectibles.

Troy Jackson, 48, of Elaine Street, faces one charge of receiving movable stolen property following the Friday, Feb. 15 incident. Jackson’s complaint warrant states he sold one lot of silver coins and multiple gold rings to Superior Rare Coinage & Collectibles, claiming to the true and lawful owner.

According to the warrant, Jackson knew that the coins and rings were stolen. Superior Rare Coinage & Collectibles bought the items from Jackson for $597.20. The warrant did not state how Jackson received the items.

Jackson has been remanded to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution (MCCI) on $20,000 bail.
