Police: Man Used Stolen Credit Cards to Buy Over $1K Worth of Merchandise
Man allegedly used a fraudulent driver’s license and stolen credit cards to buy $1,114.97 worth of merchandise from Lord & Taylor.
Ruali Alvarez-Diaz, 45, of Palisade Avenue, faces a charge of identity theft, credit card theft and possession of a fraudulent driver’s license. According to the complaint warrant, Diaz knowingly possessed a fraudulent New York driver’s license with a name identified as A. R. In addition to allegedly possessing the fraudulent driver’s license, Diaz is also accused of identity theft for representing himself as A. R.
Diaz’s charge of credit card theft comes from a Sunday, Feb. 17 incident. Diaz allegedly used stolen credit cards to purchase $1,114.97 worth of merchandise from the Freehold Raceway Mall’s Lord & Taylor department store.
Diaz has been remanded to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution (MCCI) on $27,500 bail for all three charges.
