Athletes and their family, friends and supporters gathered at Long Branch High School on Saturday for the Special Olympics New Jersey Area VI Track and Field Meet.

The event included some 300 participants from Aberdeen, Freehold, Hazlet, Holmdel, Howell, Lacey, Lakewood, Matawan, Middletown, and Point Pleasant, among other towns.

Volunteers from New Jersey South East District Elks and the Jersey Shore Running Club assisted during the various running, relay and field events.
