Power Back in Areas of Freehold Township
JCP&L outage map shows that the overall number of outages in Freehold Township is lower than previous days.
The morning after Hurricane Sandy hit New Jersey over 18,000 Freehold residents were without power. Three days later, power restoration has begun in certain areas of Freehold Township.
According to JCP&L’s outage map, the majority of Freehold Township is still without power, however, the total number of outages has decreased by 1,740. The morning after the storm there were 13,951 outages in Freehold Township, now the map reports 12,211 outages,
Freehold Township Mayor Anthony Ammiano said that through coordination efforts with the Monmouth County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) some traffic lights are back on in Township.
After a call with JCP&L, Ammiano said that crews are expected to begin working to restore power in Freehold Thursday afternoon or Friday morning. JCP&L is still sticking to their original prediction of seven to 10 day for the power to be fully restored.

Power has been restored to your Elite Fitness gym and it will be open Sunday morning...however, wouldn't it be a much better use of your energy to help some of the people at shelters? Just sayin...

I urge everyone reading this who still has no power at Freehold Township to file a complaint with the Board of Public Utilities. Problems that I have experienced include: 1) No updates from JCP&L 2) No one answering telephone at JCP&L 3) Excessive wait time for power restoration. 4) Inadequate preparation for storm. They should have powered down the substations during the storm so they can be restarted after the storm without delay.
