Prayer Service to be Held at Borough Hall
The service will be held at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 12.
Local residents are feeling lucky after a violent storm ripped through Freehold on July 28.
Although many trees were uprooted and many power lines came down, there was not one report of anyone being injured or killed during the storm or clean up. And for that, the town of Freehold wants to give thanks.
According to Freehold Borough Councilman Jaye Sims, a resident approached the Council asking about holding a prayer service on Sunday, Aug. 12 in front of Borough Hall.
"It is a way for the community to get together and give thanks that no one was killed or injured during the storm," explained Sims.
The service will be an hour and will feature speakers like Mayor Nolan Higgins and local clergy members. The service is open to all and will begin at 7 p.m.
