iPlay America in Freehold Township opened its doors to the public Sunday for a sneak peek of the indoor amusement park.

The event featured guided tours of the facility, which is still under construction, and live entertainment from Hilario Productions. iPlay America and its partner company, Encore Banquet & Event Center, provided popcorn and cotton candy to complete the carnival-like atmosphere.

“Thus is our opportunity to introduce iPlay to Freehold Township,” iPlay America General Manager Gary Foley said.

The open house drew a steady crowd throughout the day, said Marcy Edwards, director of marketing and public relations for iPlay America.

The company is shooting for a soft launch of the facility in late October, with a full launch slated for early November, according to Foley.

The activity center will be comprised of two areas: a boardwalk and a cityscape. Concession stands, a candy shop, self-serve yogurt and a sit-down restaurant will be among the food offerings available at iPlay America. Rides and attractions will include two-story laser tag, a go-kart course, mini bowling, bumper cars, a 4-D motion theater, and over 200 arcade games. Admission to the facility will cost $19.95, with $4.95 applied to a cover charge and the rest put on an IPA game card redeemable for rides, attractions, food and games. The cost of games will range from 50 cents to $3, while attractions will cost between $2 to $12.

Private party rooms will host birthdays and other celebrations at iPlay America, and the Encore Banquet & Event Center will be available for larger events, such as weddings, proms, tradeshows or corporate events, Edwards said.

iPlay America will hold job fairs on site on Aug. 12-13 and Aug. 26-27 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. to fill 300 positions.
