Where To See St. Patrick’s Day Parades in Monmouth

Several traditionally loud, fun outdoor celebrations are coming to downtowns nearby.

 

Several towns are putting on parades with bagpipers, drums, floats and clowns for St. Patrick's Day 2013. Wear something green and bring the camera! 

 

Freehold St. Patrick's Day Parade
Sunday, March 17, 12:15 p.m.
Bagpipers, floats, participants in green. Starts at 51 Main Street, ends at 1 West Street. At 7 p.m., bagpipers will serenade between 7 - 9 p.m. at restaurants. Grand Marshal title extended for all born on March 17. 

Keyport Fire Dept. St. Patrick's Day Parade 
Saturday, March 23rd, 2013 at 1 p.m.
Five Pipe bands, 5 floats and 18 organizations. Grand Marshal is Harry Aumack, Sr.; Deputy Grand Marshal is Chris Petrizzo. 
Begins at St. Joseph's Church at Maple Place, moves to West Fourth street, travels along Maple Place to Broad, turning on West Front St. and ending at Fireman's Park.

Highlands St. Patrick's Day Parade 
Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 2 p.m.
Nearly 100 marching units including bagpipers, marching bands, Irish dancers, and decorated floats. Begins in front of Borough Hall, 171 Bay Avenue. 2013 Grand Marshal is Rebecca Kane, Council President/Firefighter; Deputy Grand Marshal is David “Bear” Parker, Office of Emergency Management Coordinator

Keansburg St. Patrick's Day Parade 
Sunday March 24 2013 at 1 p.m.
Starts at Beachway and Raritan Avenue, travels through Carr Avenue to Center Ave, to Main St., to Church St. and ends at Keelen's at Myrtle Avenue. Grand Marshal is Patrick Antonacci, schoolteacher and former mayor; Deputy Marshal is Thomas Cusick, lifelong resident and borough municipal clerk. Seven pipe and highschool bands and 40 organizations. Irish businessman of the day James Conroy, from WA Conroy Association, an insurance firm. 

 

Parades gone by:

Rumson St. Patrick's Day Parade
Sunday, March 10 at 1 p.m.
Seven pipe and drum bands, step dancers, floats and hundreds of participants. Grand Marshal Tim McLoone, a restaurant owner, musician and philanthropist. Begins at Victory Park on River Road marching to East River Road and turning right onto Carton Street, ending at the Forrestdale School.

Matawan's Shortest St. Patrick's Day Parade
Friday, March 15 at 6 p.m. Party starts at 6:05 p.m.
Starts and pretty much ends at 176 Jackson Street, Matawan. Sponsored by Washington Engine, featuring corned beef, cabbage and potatoes ($6) and the Jersey City Emerald Society Pipes and Drums. Marchers welcome.
