Lines go for miles along area roads and crowds gather at open gas stations in hope of refueling.
With generators and cars getting low on gas, Monmouth County residents are lining up at area gas stations. However, those lines are stretching
Middletown resident Mike Morris reported a three-hour wait at the Leonardo Wawa for use of the gas pumps on Wednesday.
In Matawan on Thursday, cars were lined up onto Broad Street as they tried to tank up at the Hess gas station on Route 34.
Have you ventured outside to refuel? Where did you go and how long did you wait? Tell us in the comments below and share photos using the "Upload photos & videos" button above.

Watch the gas stations for price gouging .... Gult gas station on rte 1 across from Princeton hospital now charging 3.99 for reg? Did something happen in middle east we don't know about? Other stations increased from 3.45 to 3.65... Craig's gas station on 35 in Middletown was best at 3.45 for reg day after storm.

The line on the GSP at rest area 100 was insanely long in both directions, maybe 3 hour wait. If you continue down the parkway to the rest area at 76, line was about half of that on the southbound side, and about 1/4 of that on the northbound side. We kept on going south, got off at exit 69 for Waretown, drove about 2 miles to the right to Route 9, made a right and there is a Sunoco with no wait, and full power. All in all, took less time to drive there than to wait in a line. Good luck!

And you probably got home before the huddled masses waiting in line at the GSP service plaza. :)

My 80+ year old parents are in Brick 1 mile down Princeton Ave & without power (like most people in Brick) . They would like to go to my brother's house in CT, but do not have enough gas in the car to make the trip, and likely would need more than a full tank to complete the trip. Does anyone know where there is gas close to them in Brick, or if the GSP service plazas further north are open?? OR how long the waits are?

We were going to Tuckerton so we got off Exit 63 East onto Rt 72, filled up my tank ($36.50, no limit), and got ice at WalMart (no limit). The whole thing took about 15 minutes.
