TELL US: What Should Go Here? 23 W Main St.
What do you think would be a great addition to Downtown Freehold?
Ever since RU Music re-located from Downtown Freehold to the Freehold Raceway Mall, 23 Main St. has been empty for quite some time now.
Located next to the new Investors Savings Bank, the 3,500 square-foot office/retail space is available for lease. According to loopnet.com, rent is $3,000 per month and the property a B2 zoning, which means it can be used for retail goods, a drug store, variety stores, a liquor store or a tavern.
But, what do you think should go here? What is missing from Freehold's downtown strip? TELL US in the comments section below.

A tavern where a band could play like the Nerds! There are a lot of places to eat and drink but no places that offer live entertainment!!

I know they had tried it before, but why not a Dunkin Donuts or a Starbucks. With proximity to the courthouse and multiple businesses....perhaps the time has come to try again.

I got in similar discussion to this one about the gas station where the mural park was. there is no shortage of ideas for this town and I see many good ideas in this thread. Like Karen, I miss the antique stores we had. I would like to see a jazz and blues club, similar to Chico's in AP. Another music store would be great.
But, it all comes down to who decides to invest their money here. With the exception of one side of East Main Street, for the most part the borough has gone in its own direction, opting for service oriented business as opposed to stores that turn us into a destination spot for western Monmouth. With that in mind, we are likely to see another bank, bodega, hair salon, dollar store, lawyer office, second hand store etc. That is just what this town caters to.
