a real hardware store - where there is great personal service and the owner and workers know how to fix things! I sure miss the one I "lived in" in Toms River, Ken's Hardware.

i was thinking something for the kids.. you have kids that need a place to walk to it for one keeps them off the street and safe. a place maybe thats more for them.. maybe food and internet time since the school is for one so big on internet work. just a thought but we have so many places for adults in this town i dont want to forget the kids...coming from lakewood i can tell you these kids are quite amazing

@Jeanine...minus the food (except for special events), there's such a place already on Main Street. Freehold Public Library, 28-1/2 East Main Street.

im not talking about a library im talking about a place they can talk hang out.with out worrying of bothering the others. they do this on the streets i know cause i talk to my kids and there friends and i see them on the streets all the time . they have a teen night at court jester sometimes that some of the kids had enjoyed. there is nothing like that for the kids in a building in this town .. they hang out at cafe 360 and stefanos. im talking about that kind of hanging out.

Jeanine I like your idea. As a kid growing up in Keyport we had a place just for high school kids. They had dances, could have private parties and reasonable hours so that every kid in town could hang out every night of the week and still get home at a decent hour for school the next day. We need something different in this town rather than just another restaurant. Maybe an old fashioned burger and ice cream place with music and internet access. Pool table might not be bad either. But definitely a place for kids ONLY!

yeay i am not alone and you know i love the idea of the old fashioned burger and ice cream.... old with modern.. i am from Lakewood myself there was really nothing there. i have a 14 yr,18 yr old and a 20 yr old and i talk with there friends at times and observe things. i think this would definitely get some of the kids of the streets and put them under a safe roof. i hate seeing them hanging out on the streets specially when its dark ( really more so ) if i had the money for this i would do this. honestly i have always thought of things kids would like when it comes to this and the kids in freehold are really pretty good kids.
