Wegmans and FRHSD Enter Community-Based Partnership

Wegmans will construct and maintain a sustainable greenhouse at the district's Animal and Botanical Sciences Academy.

The Freehold Regional High School Board of Education approved a community-based partnership with Wegmans Food Stores at their meeting this week.

Wegmans Food Stores has agreed to donate all of the material and labor to construct, maintain, and harvest a raised platform sustainable garden in the greenhouse of the Animal and Botanical Sciences Academy at Freehold Township High School, according to the resolution.

The agricultural team from Wegmans Food Stores will also supply the Animal and Botanical Sciences students with educational instruction about the production of produce.

Additionally, the executive chef team from Wegmans will hold classroom instruction and demonstrations on the preparation of the harvested products to the students of the Culinary Arts Academy of Freehold High School.
