Welcome back, Patch Blogger!

Welcome to Freehold Patch

Who we are and what you can expect from the site.

A little snow won't stop us. The Freehold Patch site officially launched on Dec. 27 during a blizzard. But that's OK—in fact, that's what we're here for. Freehold Patch will bring you the latest in community news, be it high school sports, a police officer's promotion, or two feet of snow blanketing our area.

My name is Jackie Corley and I'm the local editor of Freehold Patch. I've worked in media for six years, first as a reporter for The Courier in Middletown and then as a producer for NJ.com. I grew up in Middletown but have lived in Freehold for four years.

I'll be contributing many of the articles on the site, but I'll also be joined by a team of freelance writers.

In addition to community news, the Freehold Patch site includes a robust directory of local businesses, restaurants and government offices. We spent the months before our launch making sure the directory included information on most of the businesses in Freehold, but if you know of a listing that isn't included, you can click the  "Know a business or place missing from our directory? Add it!" box at the bottom of the directory page.

Freehold Patch also has an events calendar for all the government meetings, high school sports games, and concerts happening in Freehold and the surrounding area. Our announcements section will feature volunteer opportunities, engagement and wedding announcements, and obituaries.

Take a few minutes to click around the site and see all that Freehold Patch has to offer. If you have any news tips or just want to reach out, e-mail me at jacklyn.corley@patch.com or call me 908-230-0585.

What would you like to see Freehold Patch cover? Tell us in the comments.

Hi Jaclyn- great site- I've lived in this area for over 20 years... Can you put up a "Worship" section and list all houses of worship and their events?

Hi Tony,

Our directory lists all religious institutions. You can see them listed by hovering over "Directory" in the navigation bar and then clicking "Community Resources" in the drop down menu. From there, you can select "Religious Institutions." Here is the direct link: http://patch.com/buPwg

Our events calendar also has religious events. You can see them listed by hovering over "Events" in the navigation bar and then clicking "Religious" in the drop down menu.

Thanks for checking out the site!
