Candidate Irate
This blog post was written by Freehold Borough Councilwoman Sharon Shutzer.
On Saturday morning I discovered a campaign flyer endorsing the "team" of Shutzer/Xavier and urging residents to cast their votes for Sharon Shutzer and Daniel Xavier. I am angry about this, and I want the people of Freehold to know that this was done and my name used WITHOUT my permission or knowledge.
Dan did not have the common courtesy to speak to me about this before doing it. Even more egregious is the fact that I immediately contacted him about it and told him that I was angry and did not consent to his use of my name, but he ignored my feelings and DISTRIBUTED MORE OF THE FLYERS ON SUNDAY.
This action is a clear attempt to deceive the public into thinking that Dan and I are running together as a team. His outrageous action is most definitely morally and ethically wrong. He has misrepresented my position and my intent. Under no circumstances will I tolerate such deception and misuse of my name.
I am honored to have Ron Griffiths as my running mate. He is a man of honor and integrity. We were chosen by the Freehold Democratic Club to be the candidates and I will not allow anyone to imply otherwise.
Dan's attempt to claim he is my running mate is shameful and a reflection of his true character. Shame on you, Dan Xavier, and shame on anyone who helped you carry out such a devious and deceptive ploy.

Mrs. Shutzer -
As I already mentioned to you privately on Saturday, all I am simply doing is voicing my opinion as to who I think would make the strongest Democratic Party ticket for November's Freehold Borough Council General Election. From the very beginning I have said that you have the experience Freehold Borough needs while I have the new ideas & fresh perspectives Freehold Borough deserves. I have never mentioned having "your endorsement" nor did I express anything (either in a positive or negative light) of your official running mate.
As a member of your last re-election campaign, I've always held you in the highest regard and it's important to remember that I am not campaigning for your seat - but rather for the vacant seat on the Democratic party ticket. I apologize if you feel I've somehow tried to confuse anyone, but that certainly was never my intent.

Dan,
Do you think Freehold residents are stupid? You are playing "dirty" politics and are a disgrace to the democratic party for your games with this last minute hand out. You have disrespected Sharon and should be embarrassed of your actions? If you have the respect for Sharon, like you mention you do, why wouldn't you respect her wishes and stop distributing these hand outs right away! Dan, I respect you for your service to America and Thank You! With that being said, I hope Freehold says no thank you to you for council! This to me, is immature, dishonest, and shows every resident that all you care about is serving your ego and will step on friends, like Sharon, to reach your goal! Just a sad sad example!

Mike - ur entitled to ur opinion but IMHO I think your sensationalizing the act. You've made it clear before the incident you were against Dan. So we know two things 1) you're not voting for Dan and 2) You can't vote for anyone because you don't live here. Please know the Boro really appreciates the constant input from residents who live elsewhere. Thanks - I'll be sure to keep listening to you.

Whatever alias you want to use, Thank You for reminding me where I reside. Also, Thank you for being man enough to tell us who you are! I can also assure you my family owns properties in the Boro, which entitles me to have a voice because those properties will someday be mine, Now to further educate you Sheen, many of the people on various committees in the Boro are Township residents, so should they all be removed because there not Boro residents? But again, Thank You for being so concerned about me and my life!

Ah, another election season, another rant from Mike, another pretend moral-high-horse from Sharon, and someone trying to challenge machine politics gets trashed. Way to go Freehold.
