The Freehold Township Education Foundation presented a check to the Freehold Township Board of Education in the amount of $25,000 at last night’s meeting. This check was the first installment from the education foundation's new campaign called “Connect Us”, which looks to put a document camera, short throw projector and tablet in every classroom in the district. This technology will lay a foundation for the district that will allow them to take advantage of endless current technological possibilities as well as grow with technologies to come. These critical tools will allow teachers and students to thrive in interactive classrooms that take teaching and learning to new levels. Members of the Board of Education expressed their gratitude to the FTEF for their hard work and dedication to the students of Freehold Township Schools. Perhaps that $25,000 should go towards a school safety initiative..? Police officers in our schools or an advanced security system..? I'm all for improved technology in our schools, but what good is a tablet in every classroom if the students using them are prey for armed madmen?
