300 Cyclists Ride to Raise $1.2 Million+ for Seriously Ill Children

Camp Simcha is a safe haven for young children who have been diagnosed with cancer and other serious illnesses. Camp Simcha is an amazing overnight camp designed to meet the children’s special medical and social needs. Helicopter and motorcycle rides, incredible concerts and interactive shows, and days jam-packed with activity give them the sense of normalcy missing in their everyday lives.

This month, more than 300 cyclists will ride 175 miles from Asbury Park, NJ to Camp Simcha in Glen Spey, NY, to fund the summer of a lifetime for these children. The fourth annual Bike4Chai event is a fundraiser for Chai Lifeline and so far $1.2 million has been brought in. Many parents of children who have or are currently attending Camp Simcha will ride to the finish line to see the smiling faces.

Samara of Chesterfield, NJ is one of the children that Camp Simcha caters to because she lost a leg due to a serious illness.  She was unable to attend the camp last year, but she will be attending this year.  Samara is the honorary rider and will be speaking at the kick-off pasta party, which will take place the night before the ride.
