Barkalow School Hosting AAUW Meeting

A look at events happening around Freehold on Thursday, September 12, 2013.

The heat that started on Wednesday afternoon looks to continue into Thursday with the chance of a thunderstorm threatening an event in downtown freehold before helping break the high temperatures that have settled over the area.

If the weather cooperates the Freehold Elks Motorcycle Club will be hosting its final Bike Night of the season starting at 6 p.m. Regardless of the weather the Freehold Branch of AAUW will host its meeting at 7:30 at Barkalow Middle School where Maureen Leach will discuss “Community Cookbooks-A Civil War Legacy.”

The National Weather Service is calling for a high of 87 during the day today with at least a 40 percent chance of rain particularly after 2 p.m. The chance of rain increases to 50 percent at night with a low temperature around 65 degrees. The storm is expected to clear by Friday with a more comfortable temperature of 75 degrees expected during the day.

Yesterday was Make Your Bed Day for anyone who forgot to pull up the sheets for the day and today is Chocolate Milk Shake Day and National Video Games Day as a reward for people who did their chores.
