For parents of young children a free Child Safety Seat Checkpoint will be offered at the Monmouth County Garage on Center Street.
The safety inspection will be held from 3:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. and is open to the general public with no appointment needed. The garage is located at 240 Center Street.
Later today the Teen Library Committee and Freehold VFW Post 4374 will host a special Flag Retirement Ceremony at the post located at 50 Waterworks Road. The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and will properly dispose of hundreds of flags that were collected over the summer by the two groups.
The National Weather Service is calling for a beautiful day to get outside and enjoy the fresh air with a high of around 69 degrees and a mostly sunny forecast. It will get a little chilly tonight when the temperature is expected to drop to a low of around 47 degrees. The temperature will begin to rise again tomorrow with highs predicted in the mid 70’s.
