The National Weather Service is calling for a cool and clear night in Freehold on Wednesday which should make for the perfect atmosphere for a delicious fundraiser in the downtown area.
A “Flavor of Freehold” benefit is being held for the second night with the proceeds going to the Brennan Stands Alone Foundation. For just $25 participants can try samples of restaurants from all over town with everything from Italian food to hot apple cider and frozen yogurt on the menu.
Before the food there is a chance for local residents to get into the Halloween spirit a day early with a Safe Candy Trick or Treat at the Freehold Township Senior Center. The Jackson Mills Road building will be turned into a haunted house so the whole family can have a scary good time.
Wednesday’s forecast should start with some patchy fog before 10 a.m. The National Weather Service is calling for a high near 60 for the day before dropping down to a low near 49 at night. The chance of rain for Halloween eve remains around 30 percent but the chance improves to 80 percent on Friday.
The day before halloween is National Candy Corn Day and is also traditionally mischief night. On this date in 1974 Muhammad Ali knocked out George Foreman in the Rumble in the Jungle. Lebron James debuted with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2003.
Famous birthdays today include actors Matthew Morrison and Henry Winkler. Founding father John Adams was born on this date in 1735.
