Football Fun in Freehold Friday

A look at events happening in Freehold on Friday November 29, 2013.

Now that the rain from Wednesday has passed and all the turkey has been eaten the football teams from Freehold Township and Freehold Borough can finally meet on the field to determine which team reigns supreme this year.

In a year when both teams combined to go just 2-16 the winner of the 11 a.m. game at Borough will not only leave with bragging rights for the year but also the best record of the two schools heading into next season.

After a morning of football Cafe 360 is offering music lovers a night of music as Sibling Rivalry is scheduled to take the stage at 7:30 p.m. There will be food available during the show including veggie burgers and wild caught salmon burgers among other delicious options.

Whether you go to the game or the show you will want to bundle up. The National Weather Service is calling for a high of just 38 degrees during the day before dipping down to around 25 tonight.

Not only is today Black Friday but it is also Buy Nothing Day and for those who avoid shopping altogether you can also enjoy Square Dance Day. On this date in 1890 Navy won the first in its series against Army in a 24-0 blowout at West Point.
