Freehold Committee Honoring Local Firefighters Tuesday Night

The Freehold Township Committee will be going into the Thanksgiving holiday working with their last meeting of the month set for Tuesday night.

Along with “Life Saving Certificates” for some local residents the committee will also present a proclamation honoring 50 years of the Freehold Township Independent Fire Company. Also on Tuesday the committee will introduce several new ordinances relating to salaries for township employees and land use among others. There are also items on the consent agenda to enter into shared services agreements with several entities on the municipal and county levels.

As the holiday gets closer the weather will get wetter according to the National Weather Service. The high for today is expected to be around 47 degrees with an 80 percent chance of rain with the showers likely arriving after 3 p.m. Rain is expected to run right through tonight and be heavy at times but warm temperatures will prevent the precipitation from freezing. There could be as much as two inches of rain by the end of Tuesday night with more expected on Wednesday.

Hopefully everyone enjoyed National Parfait Day on Monday but with Hanukkah starting on Wednesday night and Thanksgiving on Thursday today is also Shopping Reminder Day.
