Russian Music Comes to Freehold Friday

A look at events happening in Freehold on Friday November 15, 2013.

It may not be Moscow but local residents can get a little Russian culture on Friday right here in Freehold.

The St. Petersburg Men’s Ensemble will be at the First Presbyterian Church of Freehold starting at 7 p.m. Touring the country the group has had sold out shows wherever they go and the Freehold stop costs just $15 while tickets last or $10 for students. The group performs everything from ancient chants to folk songs to more modern and contemporary composers.

If gambling is more your speed the Freehold Township Education Foundation will be hosting a Monte Carlo Night at the Battleground Country Club. The event starts at 6 p.m. and the money will be used to help buy technology based teaching tools for the district.

The National Weather Service is calling for a mostly sunny day with a comfortable high near 60 degrees expected for much of our area. The temperature will drop dramatically at night with a low near 39 before climbing back up to a high near 58 tomorrow and a low of 45 tomorrow night. Rain is expected to arrive sometime Sunday and run straight through Monday.

With Thanksgiving just two weeks away it makes sense that today would be Clean Your Refrigerator Day. You can also help people be thankful for your gifts on National Philanthropy Day. You may not need a heavy jacket but you can at least keep your coat closed on Button Day. Tomorrow is also Have a Party With Your Bear Day while Sunday is Homemade Bread Day and Take A Hike Day which goes well with World Peace Day.
