Benefiting the School of Social Work at Monmouth University
The School of Social Work at Monmouth University is celebrating its 40th Anniversary in the 2014-2015 academic year. Forty years of preparing social workers at either the baccalaureate level or since 1998 at the graduate level is quite an accomplishment. Quite proud of their alumni and their achievements they look forward to celebrating all throughout the 2014-2015 academic year. The School of Social Work is equally proud of their graduate program which has been recognized in the 60th position as a “Top 100” program by US News and World Report.

The first event that will kick off their anniversary year will be an Art Take Away for Education on June 20, 2014. This event will be held in Rechnitz Hall, a brand new Art Gallery building on the beautiful Monmouth University campus. The “take away” guarantees that everyone who comes to this event and pays the ticket price of $250 will leave with a piece of original art, whether it is sculpture or framed original painting. We will also be featuring art from some of our overseas field internship sites. All proceeds will be put towards scholarships in social work for our graduate students.
We will be creating a website of selected pieces of donated art so that invited guests can view the art before purchasing their tickets, as an enticement to attending the event.

Patrons who choose not to take away a piece of art can attend the evening’s event, and partake of the food and wine for a ticket price of $60 per person. Artists of the donated art will attend as our guests.
We plan on photographing a select group of pieces and putting them on a website for invited guests to view before the event along with information about the artist and their work. Generous contributions are included in our annual Honor Roll of Donors which goes out to all Monmouth University constituents. Additionally, gifts valued at $1,000 or more bring the donor into our esteemed President’s Society and with that invitations and recognition to many of our featured events.
