Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus Granted Accreditation by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission for Echocardiography

Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus, a member of the Barnabas Health Heart Centers, has recently been granted a three-year accreditation for Adult Transthoracic and Tranesophageal Echocardiography by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC), a widely respected organization dedicated to improving health care through accreditation.

“Cardiovascular disease is the primary cause of death in the United States, but early detection of life-threatening heart disorders and other cardiac issues are possible with the help of state-of-the-art echocardiography procedures like those offered at Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus,” said Judy Colorado, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nursing Officer, Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus. “Being accredited by the IAC ensures our patients that Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus has undergone a careful critique on all aspects of its operations by qualified medical experts and we have met the IAC’s standards for echocardiography.”

Accreditation by the IAC demonstrates Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus’ commitment to quality care as well as its high levels of accountability in compliance with national standards through a comprehensive application process, including detailed case study review.
