NYC MARATHON RUNNERS NEEDED

NYC MARATHON RUNNERS NEEDED.

The Central Jersey Dystonia Support and Action Group, which meets at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township, has a team running in the NYC Marathon On November 2, 2014.

Ten runners were on our first team last year; this year we've been allocated 15 slots. Dystonia is a disorder in which too much electrical activity in the brain causes muscles to painfully spasm involuntarily. Although the source of that additional electricity hasn't been discovered, scientists don't see any permanent damage in the brains of dystonia patients. That means that a cure is possible.

The NY Road Runners Club requires each person running in the NYC Marathon for a charity to raise a minimum of $2,500 for that charity. Last year, our ten runners raised nearly $40,000 for the Dystonia Medical  Research Foundation.

If you'd like to be on this year's team, please email me at cjdystonia@aol.com and write "NYC Marathon" in the Subject area.
