Small Talk Has Big Rewards in a Technological World

Join Dr. Alison Block on Wednesday, October 2, 7:30 p.m. at Middletown High School North at 63 Tindall Road in Middletown, NJ for her talk, “Small Talk in a Technological World: Are the Internet and Social Media Putting Our Children’s Relationships in Jeopardy?". Dr. Block will share with guests the importance of small talk and its big rewards for children and their families.

The talk is hosted by the Middletown Township Friends of Different Learners. In today’s online “social” world, many children and young adults are not equipped with the knowledge or tools to make conversation. Some are wedded to their electronic devices and others may be anxious about talking to people they do not know well. In the talk, guests will learn how the internet and social media have changed family life and the difference between real conversations and intimate relationships, versus texting and sharing on Facebook. To register, visit http://mtfodlsmalltalk2013.eventbrite.com/.
