Vintage Baseball Games at Allaire

The Historic Village at Allaire will present the national pastime as it was played 150 years ago -- without fielding gloves! -- beginning at 12 noon on Saturday, May 17th.

The Bog Iron Boys will play the Elizabeth Resolutes, named for New Jersey's first professional team, and the winner of that game will face the Hoboken Nine.

Bog iron was the reason for the village's existence in the 1800s.  The "company town" is on the National Register of Historic Places.  Guides provide historical interpretation of the buildings and quaint ways of life of the era.

Admission to the games and the village attractions is $5, with children under 6 free.  The Historic Village at Allaire is in Allaire State Park, 4263 Atlantic Avenue, Farmingdale, Wall Township.
