Freehold Borough Seeking Participants for Town Wide Yard Sale

Yard sale will be held on Saturday, Oct. 6.

The Freehold Borough Recreation Commission is seeking homes for a town-wide yard and sale wants residents to participate that have belongings taking up space in their basements, attics, and closets.

The town-wide Yard Sale will be held Saturday Oct. 6. The rain date is currently scheduled for Oct. 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

To encourage the maximum number of yard sales within the town limits on that day, the Borough will waive any of the normal fees or permits required. A map of participants and their wares will be made available to shoppers prior to the day of the event at sponsoring businesses and via the Borough’s website. To drive the maximum number of shoppers to the individual yard sales, the Borough will advertise and publicize the event in Freehold, as well as adjoining towns and counties.

Prospective participants are asked to register for the event no later than Sept. 9, by providing their name, street address, phone number, e-mail address and short list of yard sale items. Lists should be under 15 words or less.

Registrations will be accepted by mail to Freehold Municipal Building, 51 West Main Street, Freehold NJ 07728, Attn: Yard Sale. You can also send e-mail to pruegger@freeholdboro.org.

Official, uniformed signage will be provided to the first 100 registered participants prior to the event.
