Borough Senior Holiday Party

The Elks Lodge will be hosting the annual Borough Senior Holiday Party on Saturday, Dec. 3.

The annual Freehold Borough Senior Citizen Holiday Party is coming up this weekend. On Dec. 3, 2011 borough residents 62-years-old and older are welcome to celebrate the holiday season at the Elk’s Lodge on Main Street.

Councilwoman Shutzer has been running this event for the past 19 years. “The seniors really enjoy it," said Shutzer. “And it doesn’t cost the seniors a penny.”

The event may be for the Seniors in Freehold Borough, but the event is ran by many volunteers from the community. Mayor Mike Wilson, Borough Council members, students and other residents will be volunteering their time Saturday to make the Borough Senior Holiday Party a good time for all, according to Shutzer.

Party attendees also have the option of getting a ride to the festivities. There will be a borough bus running for seniors to catch a ride to the party.

To date, 90 seniors will be attending the party on Saturday. The Elks club can accommodate up to 110 seniors and reservations must be made in advance.
