Freehold Boy Scouts Clean Up After Hurricane Sandy

Troop 155 in Freehold assisted in Sandy Clean up last weekend.

A local Boy Scout troop provided a helping hand to Monmouth County residents affected by Hurricane Sandy.

Over a dozen Boy Scouts from Troop 155 in Freehold moved sand, brush and debris over the weekend. According to a father of a troop member who was also present at the clean up, the boys were extremely excited to participate and help out. However, after working outside for over five hours, most boys didn’t make it back to Freehold without falling asleep in the car.

While this isn’t the first time the boys assisted residents affected by Hurricane Sandy, this was the first time they were able to get their hands dirty for the cause.

By helping Hurricane Sandy victims, the boys were able to follow one of the lessons the troop preaches; to help serve the community. The troop hopes to be able to further help out whenever possible.
