Community Walk Scheduled Wednesday

Part of the ongoing Mayor's Wellness Initiative

Freehold Borough Mayor J. Nolan Higgins is scheduled lead residents on a community walk Wednesday beginning at 6:30 p.m., as part of the ongoing Mayor’s Wellness Initiative.

The walk is set to start from Freehold Borough Hall, 51 Main Street, and is scheduled to last about 45 minutes. The community walks will continue each Wednesday for anyone who wants to get out and get moving, according to Lynn Riech, event organizer.

Anyone who participates in the Mayor’s Wellness Initiative will receive a Community Health and Active Movement Participation card. Each time a cardholder participates in a Mayor’s Wellness event, the card will be punched. Those C.H.A.M.P. card holders with the most punches will be invited to a recognition event at the end of the year to reward them for their active participation, Reich said.
