Freehold Center Designated as a Project Homeless Connect Location

The New Beginnings Agape Christian Center is one of the three Monmouth County locations available to the homeless on Wednesday, Jan. 30.

The New Beginnings Agape Christian Center is opening its doors to those in need today.

On Wednesday, Jan. 30, a team of volunteers and Monmouth County staff will be in Asbury Park, Freehold and Red Bank meeting with people who are homeless, or at risk of becoming homeless, and encouraging them to seek county services and resources.

Between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. all people who are in need, homeless, or impacted by Sandy, are welcome to come to the Freehold location at New Beginnings Agape Christian Center for social services, food and warm clothing.

In addition to the New Beginnings Agape Christian Center, Monmouth County residents can also receive the same services at the Jersey Shore Rescue Mission, located at 701 Memorial Drive in Asbury Park, or at the Pilgrim Baptist Church, located at 172 Shrewsbury Avenue in Red Bank. Both of these locations will be open to those in need between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 30.

Those who participate will be asked to provide information and will be offered food, clothing and various services, including free health screenings and employment services.

For more information about Project Homeless Connect, contact the Monmouth County Department of Human Services at 732-683-2102.
