Holiday House Tour Returns This Weekend

Tickets still available for Freehold Borough Historic Preservation Commission's second annual Holiday House Tour.

For the second year in a row, the Freehold Borough Historic Preservation Commission is getting residents into the holiday spirit with a historic twist.

On Saturday, Dec. 8 the commission is hosting their second annual Holiday House Tour. The tour will bring guests to a select number of decked-out homes and buildings that visually celebrate the traditional holiday season.

According to a press release, stops on this year’s tour include Olive Branch Lodge No. 16, Covenhoven House, and three neighborhood homes. Guests on the tour will be able to enjoy festive decor inside and outside the homes, many of which feature family heirlooms and traditions.

The tours will run from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and will all start at the American Hotel. Prior to the tour, ticket holders will receive informational booklets. The tour will point out historical sites between stops and will allow 10 to 15 minutes for each home to view the interior and discuss the home’s history. Only rooms that are decorated will be shown on the tour. Once completed, the tour will return to the American Hotel.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children and are available in advance at the clerk’s office in the first floor of Borough Hall. For more information contact Lynda Keller at 732-421-3750 or at bluefairy614@gmail.com.
