Lake Topanemus Park Clean Up Date Set

The clean up day is scheduled for Saturday, April 13.

Just like the rest of Freehold, Lake Topanemus Park was affected by the numerous storms that hit our area this year. In an attempt to clean up the park before the full swing of spring and summer activities, the Lake Topanemus Park Commission has scheduled an April clean up date.

In a press release from the Lake Topanemus Commission it states that fallen trees, dispatched limbs and uprooted shrubs now dot the landscape of the park. On April 13, the commission is asking anyone who uses the park to put on a pair of work gloves and help with the cleanup.

Chain saws, rakes, gas leaf blowers, and wheel barrels can all be used for the cleanup and are considered vital for the workday.

According to the press release, the commission hopes that the cleanup will clear the walking and jogging paths and the sitting areas throughout the shore of the lake and eliminate all debris left by the recent storms.

Clean up of the park is needed before Olde Freehold Day, which is scheduled for July 20. This year’s Olde Freehold Day will utilize all of the park's areas with new additions of pony rides, children’s zone, a coed volleyball tournament and adult horseback riding on the trails.
